Makinde Presents Certificate, Staff Of Office To New Alaafin Oba Owoade

Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, has presented the certificate and staff of office to the newly appointed Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade.

The certificate and staff of office were presented on Monday, at the Oyo State Government Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, the state capital.

Prince Owoade was announced on Friday, by the state government as the Alaafin-elect, to succeed the late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, the 44th Alaafin of Oyo, who passed on two years ago.

While expressing the belief that Oba Owoade will lead with wisdom, integrity, and a commitment to the unity of the Oyo kingdom, Makinde said the Alaafin of Oyo is not just a traditional ruler but a custodian of rich history and tradition.

In his remark, the new Alaafin, Oba Owoade, expressed gratitude to the people of Oyo and pledged to prioritise the development of the kingdom and the welfare of its residents.

The presentation had in attendance the kingmakers, otherwise known as Oyomesi, top government functionaries and eminent personalities from the state.
