Businesses and individuals involved in virtual-asset activities like cryptocurrency, non- fungible tokens and utility tokens may face penalties running into millions of naira for non-compliance, following a set of tax rules set by the Niger Revenue Service, NRS, PwC Nigeria has said. According to the professional services firm, taxpayers who default on specified obligations could face a ₦10 million penalty for the first month of default and ₦1 million for every subsequent month. The Federal Government has returned to the domestic debt market with a ₦1.1 The Debt Management Office (DMO) announced fresh N1.1 trillion subscriptions for three bond re-openings and fixed August 17, 2026, for the auction. According to the DMO on Thursday, the offer represents one of the largest domestic bond issuances in recent months and is to mobilise long-term capital from institutional investors to support government financing needs. The DMO said investors can subscribe to the bonds at ₦1,000 per unit, subject to a minimum investment of ₦50 million and in multiples of ₦1,000 thereafter. Following the fall in Brent Price from $100 per barrel to $79 pb in the wake a c lull in the Middle East war, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a fresh reduction in the ex-depot prices of petrol and diesel, lowering the cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to ₦1,165 per litre and Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) to ₦1,570 per litre. The new pricing, announced on Wednesday, reduces the ex-depot price of petrol by ₦50 from ₦1,215 per litre, while diesel falls by ₦80 from ₦1,650 per litre.
