The Parents Teachers Association of the college have accused the principal of instigation a crisis during which students destroyed hostel beds, classroom benches and vehicles as well as books. The PTA accuse the principal of negligence and divide-and -rule tactics.

The Chairman, Concerned Parent Teachers Association ,PTA, Pastor illiya Mangvwat alongside  parents of students in the college and the immediate past PTA Chairman, Lakai Jacob faulted the principal who in turn blamed some teachers as instigators of the violent students.

Investigation shows that the real cause of the crisis is the accusation the students levied against the principal. The students accused the principal of using diabolic charms in their hotels and setting the SS2 students against those in the Junior classes , SS3 and SS1. Consequently, the Principal forced the SS2 out of the school for about three weeks without communicating with the Federal Ministry of Education. The ensuing riot led to the expulsion of one of the students from the school.

Pastor illiya Mangvwat confirmed the report that led to the expulsion of the SSS2 student and described the scenario as unfortunate and first of its kind in the history of the college since it was created 43 years ago.

He alleged that the principal incited the SSS3, SSS1, JSS3 and JSS1 against the SS2 students.  Pastor illiya disclosed that the principal brought security personnel to chase away the students out of the hostel by claiming that she received instructions from the Federal Ministry of education to send them home until the October 9, 20219.

He said, “We view the destruction and punishment meted on the SS2 by the principal as indictment on the college management and failure of the college principal as a leader to take action when necessary. This failure will slow the pace of academic standard of the school renowned for education excellence over the years in Nigeria and ranking high in the SSCE & NECO examinations.

He said when the suspended students that were recalled back on Wednesday last week  discovered that all their personal belongings had already been destroyed by other students, including their books.

According to him, the college rescheduled to kick start promotion examinations after their long absence from the school without revision and no single documents left .

Pastor illiya alleged that prior to day the students resumed the principal was sighted at about 12 midnight with a herbal doctor chanting incantations within the new hostel. This action, he said, creating fears and pandemonium among the students and they rightly rejected the accommodation.

Mangvwat called on the Federal Ministry of Education to constitute investigative panel to unravel the immediate causes of break in academic calendar of the college. The students, he said, are being prevented from attending classes.

Pastor illiya lamented that the children have lost an academic calendar which may cripple their future and called for disciplinary action that might serve as deterrent and forestall future reoccurrence.

He appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene into the college crisis and save the undue truncation of their wards education.

Efforts to speak with the principal of FGGC proved abortive as she failed to answer calls put to her phone and did not reply text messages as at the time of filing this report.
