Ex-Chief of Naval Staff Dares Gov Bello for Kogi APC Ticket

Business activities were on Saturday stalled at Anyigba, the commercial nerve centre of the Igala Kingdom in the Eastern Senatorial District of Kogi state as Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin formally declared his movement to unseat the incumbent governor of the state come November 16 governorship election in the state.

The former Chief of Naval Staff is contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress ( APC), to actualize his ambition.

Addressing the  crowd that thronged the Jibrin open square at Anyingba, the front line governorship aspirant urged  party members and the people of the state to vote for serious minded aspirant who will  be able to change the narrative of our economy,infrastructural and educational decay like him.

“Kogi in my time will witness progress, stability,payment of salaries, uplifting of education, health and infrastructural development among others.

He lamented how Kogi civil servants turned to beggars and promised to make workers welfare His topmost priority.

“Civil servants have become beggars in Kogi state due to inept attitude of the present leadership,

“Local government workers are protesting across the state due to nonpayment of their salaries while our pensioners are dying daily,our state is under siege,that’s why today I stand before to declared my intention to rescue our state”,he said

Jibrin who acknowledged the struggle of late prince Abubakar Audu for the emergence of APC in the state, added that he inherited the Audu/ Falake structures to continued with the vision of late Audu.

” our late leader a man propelled with hope to develop Kogi State died after he won the battle,only to allowed his dreams for the common man died along with him.

The real challenge begins, I’ll need your support it’s time to redouble our efforts to actualise the vision of our leader”, he stated

Also speaking, the Director General Usman Jibrin Campaign Council, Chief George Olumoroti said the present Governor didn’t performed as expected and the need to support Usman Jibrin.

He urged the people of Eastern Senatorial district to support Usman Jibrin Governorship bids.

“Jibrin deserve our support he will do better, time has come for us to stop experimenting with governance,” he added.

The occasion was attended by members of APC across the three senatorial district.
