The Nigeria Police, Borno Command has said that the arrest and subsequent prosecution of five suspects was in connection with allegations of inciting disturbance, breach of public peace, thuggery and being in possession of drug substance, contrary to reports and widespread public discourse that the suspects were arrested for wearing or in possession of ‘Tinubu Must Go’ T-shirts in Maiduguri.
The clarification was contained in a press statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Keneth Daso, a copy which was made available to our Correspondent on Wednesday.
