The Oyo State House of Assembly has called on the Governor Abiola Ajimobi-led government to liaise with the Osun State Government to avert communal clashes between communities at the borders of the states.
In a motion moved on Tuesday by Hon. Peter Oyetunji titled: “Urgent Need to Avert Communal Clash Between Communities at the Borders of Oyo and Osun States in Surulere and Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Area”, the lawmakers urged the government to set up a high-powered investigative panel to look into the crisis and proffer a permanent solution.
The lawmaker representing Oyo East/Oyo West state constituency, Hon. Muideen Olagunju and Hon. Segun Ajanaku representing Ibadan South West 11, supported him.
While concurring the position of Hon. Ajanaku on the State Boundary Commission to urgently investigate the matter, the Speaker, Michael Adeyemo, called on the House Committee on Special Duties to follow up on it.
