The United State Mission in Nigeria has slammed the Federal Government on Nigeria for banning twitter and called for a rethink of the move.
According to the Mission in Nigeria: ” The Government recent twitter ban undermines Nigerian’s ability to exercise the this fundamental freedom, (expression of freedom of expression as provided for in the Constitution) and sends a poor message to its citizens investors and businesses. Banning social media and curbing every citizens to seek, receive and impact information undermines fundamental freedoms.
It said that “the path to a more secure Nigeria lies in more, not less communication, alongside concerted efforts towards unity, peace and security.”
