The Plateau State Police Commissioner, Austin Agbonlahor has sued for the cooperation of Journalists on face of insecurity in the state, tasking them to be more accurate in their reportage as political activities heightened ahead of the 2019 election.
Agbonlahor made the appeal during the get together between media executives and senior police officers of the command at the officers mess Jos on Sunday.
He said the cordial working relationship exhibited by media practitioners since he was posted here sometimes in October, 2018 shows clearly that the media are truly objectives in their reportage and asked them not to relent.
Agbonlahor commended the state NUJ members their resilient and committed to quality reporting which has help in advertising the command achievement and breakthrough in the current fight against crime and criminality to curb the menace of arm robbers.
He applauded the media for helping to enforce the ban on explosives, restrictions of movement of Okada riders during the Christmas festival leading to the recorded hitch free holidays.
In his reaction, the NUJ Chairman, Mr Paul Jatau also commended the Commissioner for creating the useful atmosphere for his members to interact effectively with policemen and women.
