The Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (KOCSDA), under the World Bank support programme has so far disbursed the sum of N108million to twenty two communities in 2018 for execution of various development projects.
The General Manager of the agency, Mallam Momoh Dauda said the amount is for the completion of various community development projects that are ongoing across the state.
The General Manager of the agency, Mallam Momoh Dauda disclosed this over the weekend in Lokoja while presenting N54million, second and third tranches of cheques to twenty two communities to complete their ongoing micro projects.
Dauda explained that the benefiting communities were selected based on their performances and urged them to sustain the good works they have started, appealing to others lagging behind to brace up to the challenges.
The General Manager also hinted that the agency would still intervene in thirty six communities in 2019 through a roll back programme across the state.
He called on the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by completing their projects on schedule, assuring that it would further enable them get the support of the World Bank in their second phase of community development projects.
As part of the agency’s intervention, the General Manager disclosed that flooded communities in nine local government areas of the state would enjoy a restoration in terms of rebuilding their hospitals, schools, water projects as contained in the agency’s purview.
Dauda listed Ijumu, Kogi, Okehi, Ibaji, Olamaboro and Okene local government areas as beneficiaries of the special intervention.
Highlights of the meeting was feedback from representatives of Ajidimoku, Oworo, Okaba, Girinya and Obangede, among others who commended the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency, and the State Government for impacting on communities in the state.
