By one year of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, there were signs that the party that brought him to power, the All Progressives Congress (APC), was taking Nigeria nowhere.
A member of the BoT and former chairman of the president’s own party, the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Prince Tony Momoh said on Channels TV that yes, Nigerians are suffering but the party will get it right and the people will smile again. Reminded that President Buhari is so aloof; for instance; six months picking his cabinet, the caustic remark that Nigerian youths are lazy or his statement in India that crashed the naira…
Prince Momoh replied: “Stone us if we fail,” but later said he didn’t mean that APC chieftains be stoned but the party be voted out if it fails. Why was President Goodluck Jonathan voted out! Prince Momoh said nothing new, some rejoinders stated.
Eight years of APC’s leadership have been disastrous. Bitter anger, hunger, hatred, frustrations and chaos nationwide. Nigerians can’t get their hard-earned money from the banks; dozens have died on queues or on the streets, banks are losing money over virtual shutdown, some have been torched. Overall, businesses are grounded nationwide but beneficiaries of mass sufferings are dancing or shedding crocodile tears…
‘Vote APC out for failing Nigerians’ should be the song for the rest of the campaigns: features, posters, social media and broadcast.
Singing this song now until election Day will revive hope and purge the land.
