In its efforts to give back to the society and identify with the poor, the Tailors Association of Nigeria, Kogi State Women Wing has donated food stuff and valuable materials to Yekope Orphanage home.
Mrs. Blessing Dauda, the State Women Leader for Tailors Association of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter, said the gesture was aimed at identifying and celebrating with children at Yekope orphanage home.
At the home, Mrs Blessing Dauda described the children as special gift from God just like any other and blamed parents or mothers found for abandoning their wards for whatsoever reasons.
Sh expressed the hope that despite their parent abandonment, a larger society is here to accept them and rescue them from untold hardship.
The women leader appreciated the patron, teachers and staff of the orphanage home and describe them and their service as a glorious task that will certainly favour and encouraged them to sustain the good work they are doing for the orphans and the society at large.
Among the gifts presented by the association to the Orphanage Home include; foodstuff, toiletries, sowed cloths and cash.
The Matron of the home, Mrs. Owosagaba while receiving members of the association, prayed God to continue to provide more for the group for better services to the poor and vulnerable in the society.
The association later visited the children ward at the specialist hospital Lokoja to also pray and present some items to the sick at the hospital.
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Yahaya Bello on Youth Empowerment, Ibikule Abubakar who was part of the visit, affirmed that vulnerable children deserved a better treatment in the society as a result of their handicaps and challenges stressing that they are equally capable and potential future leaders.
