The Nigerian women’s national football team, Super Falcons, have been awarded Women National Team of the Year at the prestigious CAF Awards 2024 during an official ceremony in Marrakech, Morocco.
The Confederation of African Football recognised the Super Falcons for their outstanding achievements, highlighting their consistent excellence and remarkable skill on the international football platform.
Throughout the past 12 months, the Nigerian women’s team has distinguished themselves through strategic gameplay, technical proficiency, and remarkable team dynamics.
CAF Awards represent the pinnacle of recognition in African football, honouring teams, individual players, and coaches who have demonstrated extraordinary talent and commitment to the sport.
Falcons’ selection as National Team of the Year reflects their significant contribution to elevating women’s football standards and inspiring future generations of athletes.

Nigerian goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, was crowned the best goalkeeper in the women’s category at the 2024 CAF Awards, recognising her outstanding performance at both club and international levels.
The 24-year-old Paris FC goalkeeper stood out among a competitive field of nominees, including Khadija Er-Rmichi from Morocco and Andile Dlamini from South Africa.
Nnadozie’s exceptional season with her French club and her critical role in the Nigerian national team’s performances have been pivotal in her recognition.
During the award ceremony, Nnadozie expressed gratitude to the football authorities and her support network.
She said, “Last year I was here, and I am here again today and grateful to God. I want to say a big thank you to the CAF President and Nigerian Football President for the work done for women’s football.”
She also acknowledged the significant contributions of her club, coaches, teammates, family, and friends.
Nnadozie’s achievement is particularly significant as she prepares for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026 qualifiers.
