The stakeholders and Exco of the All Progressives Congress,(APC) in Yelwa-Shendam Area of Plateau State have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following the resignation of the ex-LGA Chairman from the party .
The APC Exco disclosed that they have resigned from the APC due to crises and illegal suspension of members of the officials .
Yelwa-Shendam Federal Ward Chairman ,Hon.Halilu Ibrahim said the APC house they all built and enjoyed its serenity for the past eight years when things were done appropriately in accordance with the constitutional provisions of the party, has evaporated.
Added to that is “the aftermaths of the last elections which was suppose to be a period of healings have been characterized by intimidation, accusations and the purported expulsion of members, and some of which are excos APC ,” he said
“Thereafter we followed all human and legal means to restore sanity but all proved abortive. Inline with this, we are hereby tendering our resignations from the ward to LGA executives of the party and denounced our membership of the All Progressives Congress.
“Attached is the lists of the resigned excos both L.G.A and ward level. Also attached is a list of all stakeholders who also denounced membership of the party.”
The Exco and stakeholders revealed that the exercise of political harassment and intimidation of the officials prompted them to abandon the party to celebrate PDP as the former governor Simon Lalong remain silent when the crises started leading them existing out .
‘We can’t remain in a party that would continue to create acrimony between the members. Instead of bringing everyone on board they are busy frustrating the officials, he explained.
Hon . Ibrahim expressed disappointment with the treatment the officials had undergone after the former governor, Simon Lalong lost his senatorial seat of Plateau South and then reclaimed the mandate at the Appeal Court judgement. ” Some of us are been published for that.”
