The Forum of former Members Plateau State House of Assembly on the platform of  the All Progressive Congress ,APC, have lambasted  former Governor Jonah David Jang,  Bauchi and Lagos and Lagos lawmakers for what they called interference in the local affairs of the party in the state and possibly fule the crisis further.

Addressing a world press conference at Bukuru bypass on Thursday in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau state, the interim Chairman of the association, Hon Banahel Andong and Secretary, Abu .V.Nimmyel, urged the “ex-governor and lawmaker to stay clear and stop presenting misleading information over the impeachment saga.”

Andong said, “that as stakeholders in the Plateau project and more so the House of Assembly constituency ,we have been watching the unfolding events in the past days as a result of change of leadership in the house and we feel we need to add our voice and make our position clear.

“We want to appreciate the media for the noble task of keeping the public informed of the happening in our dear state ,we unequivocally want to reiterate our openness and support for the new leadership in the house under Rt.Hon. Yakubu Yakson Sanda ,as the Speaker “.

According to him, “as lawmakers who are familiar with the House rules and Constitutional provision in the administration of the legislature ,we want to state that:

“That the impeachment of the Rt .Hon. Ayuba Nuhu Abok meets the constitutional requirements of section 92(C) CFRN of 1999 as amended .This is because 16 out of 24 members signed for his impeachment ,on the 28th October, 2021 which is 2/3 majority.”

“As a forum, we want to drew the attention of our distinguished Senator Jonah David Jang, Senator Bukola Saraki and Sen I.D.Gyang ,Lagos State and Bauchi Houses of Assembly in the spirit of lawmakers to always cross check this facts correctly before delving into conclusion, if we ask ,why are the PDP in the state crying more than the bereaved ? perhaps they have a hidden agenda ,otherwise ,their actually and action and comments are inimical to the peace and unity of our dear state.

Senator Jang should note that he who comes to equity must come with clean hands. A word is enough for the wise . Now that our enemies within and outside the state are rearing their heads one by one ,we urge them to stay clear and stop inciting and presenting misleading information that is denting the image of the state and integrity of the state legislature.

Hon Idowu Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly in his reaction to had called on the Conference of Speakers in the country not to recognise the new Plateau State Speaker whom he said emerged with eight lawmakers votes.

He said; “The parliament is the eyes and ears of the people. The impeachment is something we all have to rise up against. It happened in Edo and it has not been resolved as we speak. The roof of the Assembly was removed. The majority members are now residing in Abuja while the minority members are in charge.

“Now we have Plateau and we are talking about Imo state. Where is our democracy?

“It shows that it is not a fluke that the Lagos Assembly is above the common standard of excellence. If we don’t criminalise this across the country, it will continue,” he said.

Similarly, the Senate had criticised the impeachment of Hon. Ayuba Abok, Speaker of Plateau State and called for the decision to be overturned.
