The Chairman of SOWENON, Dr Sam Jenfa, has felicitated with the Muslim community in Nigeria, especially members of SOWENON Initiative on this year’s Eid-el-kabir celebration.

He commended their relentless efforts in promoting love and harmony within the Association and Nigeria at large.

Dr Jemfa urged members not to loose sight of lessons of Eid El – Kabir and advised them to continue to pray for the leaders so that they would deliver dividends of democracy to Nigerians.

He further enjoined the Muslim brethren within the Association to continue to work diligently for the growth and development of the Association in order to achieve its goals and objectives.

In another development, a Socio-Cultural association, Fugar Progressive Union, FPU, has also felicitated with the Muslim Ummah as the Muslim faithfuls across the world celebrate Sallah day.

The FPU National President, Barrister Richard Anetekhai, on behalf of the executive and members of the association, was quoted as saying, “Eid-el-Kabir is the commemoration of the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as instructed by Allah.

It is appropriate that we use the occasion to reflect on, and emulate the Prophet’s virtues of obedience, loyalty, patience, perseverance and generosity in our dealings with one another and our community”

Anetekhai noted that as we celebrate, let us remember that the COVID-19 pandemic is still a threat and even more dangerous with the confirmation of the Delta variant of the virus, which is presently causing a rise in the number of infections, hospitalisation and deaths across the world.

He advised all Fugarians and the public at large to continue to exercise caution and adhere to all the protocols put in place by the relevant authorities.

Barrister Anetekhai also urged the Muslim Ummah to use this opportunity to pray for peace and security in the wake of the recent security challenges in Fugar.

“Fugarians are also encouraged to be security conscious and continue to support the efforts to secure our community,” he concluded.
