Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abia State, Engr Mike Ozoemena has warned members of the party against recognizing Hon Donatus Nwankpa as its chairman.
In a statement obtained by our correspondent, Ozoemena said Nwankpa and Mr. Godson Benson had been illegally parading themselves as the party’s chairman and publicity secretary respectively.
He said they both had served in the former executive committee of the party which was sacked and replaced with another led by Dr Emmanuel Ndukwe by an Abia High Court earlier this year.
“It has come to the notice of the leadership of the party that both Nwankpa and Godson have been parading themselves in the respective capacities without recourse to the order,” Ozoemena said.
He further said, “This act by Donatus Nwankpa and his gang is not only deceptively criminal but an act of disobedience to the judiciary and the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
The publicity secretary said the Ndukwe executive committee under the leadership of High Chief Ikechi Emenike is authentic and recognized by the national legal adviser of the party.
“We are a law abiding party and we therefore want to use this medium to caution our members, supporters and the general public against dealing with Nwankpa and his gang as our leaders,” he added.
He also urged the people to ensure they register for the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) “in readiness to vote in APC against the Peoples Democratic Part (PDP) for the welfare and development of the state.”
