The chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kogi state, Indah Abdulrahman has attributed the defeat it suffered in the last lokoja/kogi Federal Constituency bye- election to unwarranted crisis within the party.
The stakeholders of the Social Democratic Party ( SDP) have also blamed the misfortune of the party in the said election on the activities of the cabals undermining the authority of the state chairman, Indah Abdulrahman.
The resolution signed by the Chairman, Indah Abdulrahman and the Secretary, Collins Adama and copied the National Chairman of the party, Resident Electoral Commissioner, Commissioner of Police and Director of DSS, of which a copy was also made available to Journalists in Lokoja.
The statement frowned at the conduct of the National Organising Secretary, Mr Emeka Aduma who allegedly hijacked the proceedings at the grand finale rally, stressing that he did not hide his preference for an aspirant against the candidate of the party.
It decried the continued usurpation of the office of the state chairman by national officers of the party, stressing that their by passing the official line of communication between the national secretariat and the state chapter has impacted negatively on the growth of the party.
” We urged the National leaders of the party to recognize the outcome of the 25th July, 2018 congress which elected Engineer Indah Abdulrahman as Chairman. The process was supervised by the Independent National Electoral commission and Security Agencies in the state as required by law” The statement noted.
While restating its commitment to the growth and progress of the party, called on the party members and the security agencies to be vigilant to forestall the palpable breakdown of law and order, which may be occasioned by the activities of some cabal within the party.
