
Pontiff of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis has prayed for healing and peace in Nigeria following the protests of youths against police brutality and the resulting looting across the country fueled by the killing of unarmed protesters at Toll Gate in Lagos on Tuesday.
The Pope who also appointed a record number of 13 Cardinals from the United States, Philippines, Rwanda and others, said briefly in reference to the situation in Nigeria; “My Dear Brothers and Sister, I am worried about the violent clashes that recently happened between the police and protesters in Nigeria. Let us pray for the return of peace and justice.”
