The Kogi State Command of the Nigerian Police Force has confirmed the kidnap of the Acting Eje Ankpa, Alhaji Shaibu Usman with a vow to ensure his rescue in no distance time.
The Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Ede who confirmed the incident said the Command is not resting on its oars until the abductors of the Acting Eje Ankpa is released.
The Ag. Eje Ankpa, Alh Shaibu Usman was this morning at about 5:30 am kidnapped while entering the Mosque to observe the morning prayer.
Alh Shaibu Usman abductors are yet to make any contact with the family, but the Commissioner of Police said the Police have cordoned all entry and exit point into the State, with a view to rescuing the Traditional Ruler.
According to CP Edeh, the kidnappers had laid ambushed at the mosque, and zoomed off immidiately with the Monarch to yet to be ascertained destination.
Also Speaking on the incident, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, said efforts is ongoing to ensure that the traditional ruler is safely released.
According to him, ” The State Government is working with security agencies to ensure his release.
