The Court of Appeal, Jos division has directed that status quo be maintained in the suite brought before it by Yakubu Yakson Sanda challenging the sudden appearance of Hon Ayuba Nuhu Abok as the authentic speaker .
“You would recalled that ,Sanda went on to approached appeal court after a Jos high court ousted him from office, and reinstated Abok Ayuba-as speaker of the plateau state House of Assembly”.
This is the third time the case was heard at the appellate court.
At Thursday’s sitting, Two counsel announced appearance for the appealant.
Yakubu Ruba,a senior advocate of Nigeria, SAN, was handling the case for the appellant, but he was debriefed through a letter from clerk of the house and three other members who are also appellants in the matter to the effect that they are no longer interested in the appeal.
This is because they have already implemented the orders of the lower court. On the other, hand Ruba was replaced by Panmak Lere.
So when the case was called, Yakubu Ruba announced appearance and Panmak and Lere also did for the same case.
Following that confusion, the court adjourned the matter to the 8th of June to allow the two counsel reconciled their differences.
