The National Women Wing of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Plateau State Chapter has made a strong appeal to Governor Simon Lalong for more appointment of women into his administration.
Former Jos North Local Government Council Chairperson, Hon Theresa Ajang Azi made the call in an interview with journalists in Jos. She said the state government should consider more women for appointments as part of the 35 per cent affirmative action in governance.
While congratulating governor Lalong on his victory at the just concluded election petition tribunal, she called for the appointed of women as secretaries in their respective LGAs as a way of encouraging them to participate actively in politics at the grassroots. That way, she said would enable the women to building their confidence.
