Minster of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen
Osun state women have been advised to be actively involved in the development of the state as it clocks 28 years.
The Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen gave out the advise in a statement on Friday, stating that women are pivotal to societal development with limitless possibility for nation building.
In the statement made available to our correspondent in Jos, by her Media aide, Mr Shabul Mazadu, the Minister said; “ as chaste keepers of the home and ardent groomers of their offspring, women are the moulders of the society as there is none that can boast of not being trained by a woman right from infancy.”
She called on the women in the state to deploy the same zeal they use in grooming their children in all areas of assignments in the state, and to support the federal government’s plan to combat drug abuse amongst the youths.
Tallen also congratulated the governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, his deputy, members of the State House of Assembly, traditional chiefs, religious leaders and the people on the anniversary.
Meanwhile governor Oyetola has said the anniversary celebration would be low-keyed due to the prevailing economic downturn in the country.
