Chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ohafia local government council, Hon Kalu Mba Nwoke has warned against rigging of the result of the December, 18 election.
Nwoke stated this while speaking to newsmen in his campaign office in Ebem Ohafia, the headquarters of the area, saying anything to the contrary will be unacceptable to the people especially the youths.
He said the people want a complete change from the present situation of the area after over 21 years of democratic dispensation in the country, adding that he has the capacity to make the desired change.
The former councillor who represented Ohafor Ward 1 and the deputy leader Ohafia legislative council, appealed to the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC) to ensure the election is free and fair.
His words, “The chairman of the commission, Prof Mkpa Agu Mkpa should be aware that the world is watching him. He need not be told that the exercise can either damage or enhance his reputation.”
He said he is not cowed by the members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area, adding that their being in the corridor of power was yet to have positive impact in the area.
“As a councillor, I delivered on my campaign promises. I challenge each and everyone of them to point to what they have done in their immediate communities.”
The former leader, who maintained that his legacies changed the face of Asaga Ohafia positively after bring abandoned for years, added that he will repeat the feat across the area if given the opportunity.
