The Hadi Ametuo led faction of the All Progressive Congress, (APC) has denied the allegation of collecting fifty million naira bribe from Governor Yahaya Bello as being rumoured by some members of the Governor’s led factional party.
This was contained in a statement signed by Hadi Ametuo, factional state Chairman of Kogi APC and made available to journalists in Lokoja
He described the accusation as faceless, incoherent and grammatically suicidal.
An online media over the weekend had published a story, alleging that the Hadi Ametuo led faction of the APC may have sold out after collecting the bribeto betray his members.
But Hadi insisted that there was no such meeting held at the Kogi liason office leading to the collection of the said money from the Governor as claimed by people he referred as ghost writers.
According to Ametuo, the Dr Alex Kadiri led Kogi Elders Forum of the APC has only resolved after a long meeting to meet with the governor after Sallah break, saying that the write up was just a fabrication of lies and the figment of the author’s imagination.
The statement reads in part : ” For clarity of purpose, I will state that such meetings as stated by this ghost writer never held at Kogi liaison office as claimed by the writer. The forum of northern state chairmen of our great party (APC) met me to discuss a way forward between my camp and the governor’s camp
“The Dr Alex Kadiri- led KOGI Elders Forum, resolved after a long meeting to meet with the governor after Sallah break. The allegations of some offers made to me and members of our Elders forum are cheap lies and nothing but a figment of the writer’s imagination.
Similarly, the former senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial districts, Senator Muhammed Salami Ohiare has also denied any involvement in the news making the round on the purported settlement between the Hadi Ametuo group of the All Progressive Congress and the Kogi state Government.
In a statement by his Special Assistant, Haroun Opotu Yussuf, and made available to journalists, the Senator noted that the ill motivated news was just to smear the good and hard earned reputation of his Principal
He said: “Distinguished Senator Mohammed Salami Ohiare has always refrained from associating himself with anything negative or detrimental to his corporate image and by extension, Kogi State, hence not ready to compound the problems thereof.
