A combined team of troops of the 403 Special Forces Brigade Baga, Niger Republic Troops and the Nigerian Air Task Force of Operation, LAFIYA DOLE, has smashed some Boko Haram/ISWAP elements at Kure village along Tumbun Rago and Tumbun Fulani general areas of Borno State.
The encounter, which is part of the ongoing clearance operations in the North East Theatre of Operation, dealt a blow to the terrorists who suffered heavy casualties with many escaping with gun shot wounds.
In their flight, the terrorists abandoned one gun truck, one anti aircraft gun, one motorcycle. Others are one light machine gun, one AK 47 rifle and a magazine, two hundred and 227 rounds of 12.7 mm ammunition and 10 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition.
According to Bernand Onyeuko a Brigadier General and Acting Director Defence Media Operations, the joint military forces sustained no casualty or less of equipment.
