NGE Embarks On Media Tour of Educational Facilities in Kogi

The Nigeria Guild of Editors at the weekend, embarked on media tour of educational facilities in Kogi state to assess government’s efforts in providing quality education in the state.

The association which held its NEC meeting in Lokoja on Saturday and decided to embark on the tour, commended the Kogi State Government for its remarkable achievements in the educational sector across the State.

The Team Leader and Member of the Nigeria Guild of Editor, Adebayo Bodurin gave the commendation while at the GYB Model Science Secondary School, Adankolo, within Lokoja metropolis on Saturday.

Bodurin, who was highly elated with structure build by the Government in providing an enabling environment for learning disclosed that Kogi State Government is setting a pace to be the educational hub of the Country.

The veteran journalists asserted that, with the laudable educational structure which spread across the three Senatorial districts, the future of Nigeria is in a safe hands of producing competent, reliable and knowledgeable leaders for a better tomorrow.

“I believe in education, that is where the future of the Country lie. When we have educated people, we will have knowledge to solve our problem. This is a good initiative. I am happy the Government said they have four of this in other Senatorial Districts.

“I do hope that each Local Government in Kogi State will have structures of this nature and Kogi will be in the forefront of producing future scientist, technologist that will help of Country to be less dependent on other nation”he stated.

He, however, commended the remarkable transformation of Kogi State under former Governor Yahaya Bello, urged his predecessor Ahmed Usman Ododo to sustain and continue with the tempo of development seen by the NGE.

Earlier, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo who took the Guild of Editors round Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre, GYB Model Science Secondary School Adankolo, alongside top Government officials noted that, the immediate past administration has achieved a lot in the State with little resources, assured that the administration of Alhaji Usman Ododo is set to consolidate and continue with the good works of the immediate past administration.
