Kogi Gov APC Aspirant, to Prioritise Industrialization, Establishment of Inland Port

APC Governorship Aspirant in Kogi state, Dr. Sanusi Ohiare has declared that if given the opportunity, he will prioritise industrialization of the state and establishment of Inland Port in Lokoja, the state capital.

Dr. Sanusi gave the hint in Lokoja on Wednesday, while speaking at the ongoing Media Parley organised by the Kogi NUJ for Governorship aspirants in the forthcoming Guber Primaries and Polls.

The aspirant assured that the planned Inland Port would facilitate transportation of goods and services, prompt social and economic activities as well as generate employment, especially for the Youths.

Ohiare also promised to set up “Kogi Works” to galvanise efforts aimed at industrialising the state and boost the productivity of the people to optima level.

According to him, he would ensure the dredging of River Niger and Benue to boost activities at the proposed Inland Port in Lokoja to ginger various businesses.

On transportation, the aspirant said that he would ensure that the services of Itakpe Railway Corporation is extended to Abuja to facilitate the movement of people and goods.

On Ajaokuta Steel project, he would collaborate with the federal government to make the project becomes a reality with the attendant social and economic benefits to the state.

According to him, he would build more schools, with emphasis on science and technology in training graduate who would combine intellectual and practical ability to work without necessarily waiting for white-,collar jobs.

On the state workforce, Ohiare said that he would revive the culture of farming in the workers by making sure that they attend to farming during weekends to stem “food inflation” in the state.
