The former Governor of Plateau State, Sen Joshua Dariye has said that he has reconciled his difference with Senator Simon Lalong, former governor and ex- House of Reps Deputy Speaker, Hon Ahmed Idris Wase.
He stated this at the joint burial ceremony of his late parents, Pa Dariye Defwan and Kaka Saratu Dariye Defwan.
Sen Dariye said “Lalong is here, Maje is here, I want to tell you all we have reconciled, let’s all join hands for a greater Plateau.”
Earlier at the funeral ceremony, Gov Caleb Mutfwang condoled with the Dariye and his family, praying for forgiveness and peaceful coexistence in the state.
Goodwill messages were delivered by representatives of Sen George Akume, the Secretary to Government of the Federation, SGF, Nuhu Ribadu, the NSA, the Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Gyang Buba, and several dignitaries from across the states.
Several dignitaries who attended the ceremony at Mushere West, Bokkos LGA of Plateau State included, Sen Simon Lalong, Right Hon Idris Ahmed, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sen Diket Plang, Hon John Dafaan, Hon David Lalu, Dane Pauline Tallen, Hon Lumumba Dah Adeh, Hon Yakubu Dati, Bashir Garga of NEMA and Prof Danladi Atu amongst several guests.
It will be recalled that the Plateau State APC leaders comprised of Sen Simon Lalong, Rt Hon Ahmed Idris and Hon John Dafaan had visited the Abuja residence of Sen .Joshua Dariye to condole with him.
Divided by politics that saw them move within and between the Peoples Democratic party and the All Progressives Congress, in their supremacy battles, the emotional attachment of mourning and burial has brought them together.
Meanwhile, the Middle Belt Journalists Forum has paid their last respect to the family of Sen.Joshua Dariye over the demised of Na,Kaka Saratu Dariye Defwan who died at aged of 92 (1932-2024) after a protracted illness while Pa, Dariye Defwan was kidnapped and brutally murdered by the suspected criminal .
The delegation of the MBJF was led by the National Secretary , Comrade Ladi Dincit Emmanuel and Vice Chairman , Comrade Emmanuel Stephen at the Minging country home of Ropp in Mushere chiefdom of Bokkos Local Government Council of Plateau State.
She expressed sadness over the level of insecurity in the country by calling on the middle belt people to rise up to the challenges of self defense .
According to Ladi Emmanuel ,we are here to condole with you as the two bodies of our beloved parents and grandparents are lower into the mother earth .
She condemned the incessant attacks in Plateau villages by appealing to the security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and properties of vulnerable communities under siege .
In his reaction Dariye commended the MBJF for their demonstration of love and concern over the demised of his parents .
He said the was a clear display of love and solidarity which is a show of commitment and care because if not for the publicity of the media the world won’t know that the pains inflicted to the family is much.
He maintained that the display of love and unity by all political gladiators demonstrates that they would soon close ranks for the progress of the state and the entire geopolitical and lives is transient nobody live forever.
The representative of the Chief of Defense Staff , Stephen Emmanuel applauded the positive contribution for the former governor for working hard towards keeping the middle belt people united .
Emmanuel eulogized Dariye as the new leader of the middle belt people by encouraging him to continue to maintain the spirit of cohesion as the President Tinubu promised to build barrack in Mbar community checkmate the influx of bandits .
