Rice farming is catching like wild fire in Kano state as an agric-based agency Sasakawa, SAA Nigeria has launched a seven days intense field supervision of farmers.
SAA Nigeria under the Kano State Agro-Pastoral Development Project (KSADP) initiated a seven days intense field supervision which started on July 29, 2022 and is expected to be completed on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.
Three parties consisting of four staff from Regenerative Agriculture, RA, Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture, NSA, Market Oriented Agriculture, MOA and Monitoring Evaluation and Research Commission, MERC, each were set off to the field to awaken, motivate and encourage the newly trained two hundred and seventy extension agents to be on their toes to establish excellent demo plots for the season. The activity is expected to touch the forty-four LGAs of Kano state.
The agents visited rice and maize plots on Wednesday and preliminary investigations was made on the inputs that was given to EAs to distribute to the farmers and the results were impressive. New sign boards were also distributed in many locations indicating plot size, project, seed variety and other information.
