The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has directed it’s Resident Electoral Commissioner in the Adamawa state, Yunus Ari to stay away from the Commission’s office immediately.
Ari yesterday usurped the role of the Returning Officer for the supplementary election in the state and announced Senator Aisha Dahiru, popularly known as Binani of the All Progressives Congress, APC as winner of the governorship poll for which 10 out of the 20 local government results had been announced showing the incumbent Governor Usman Fintiri consolidate his earlier lead secured on April 11, 2023.
INEC in a statement by Secretary to the Commission on Monday, Rose Onaran- Anthony, said that “Ari should stay away from the Commission’s office in Adamawa state immediately until further notice. The directive is with immediate effect.”
