Alh Kabiru Garba
A foundation run by Alh Abubakar Kabiru Garba has trained 550 women and youths in the Jos North Local Government on skill acquisition held in vocational centers in the state with a view to reducing poverty and dependence among them.
Alh Garba in an interview with our correspondent at the venue of the traing in Jos North Local Government Area , LGA , said the empowerment programme was a continue exercise aim at encouraging women and youths to be responsible citizens in the state.
Garba who charged the beneficiaries of his goodwill to pay attention and receive knowledge that will make them responsible members of their community, identified high rate of unemployment, kidnapping and drug addiction as the major cause of crime in the country by calling on federal and state government to create centre for vocational schools in all the geopolitical districts of the state.
The vocational training ranged from tailoring, to weaving, sawing, pomade and shoe making, and hair dressing, fashion designer clothes and cooking and dying .
