FG Awards Contract for Abiriba-Nkporo-Ohafia Road

The Federal Government has awarded contract for the construction of the 10-kilometer Abiriba-Nkporo-Ohafia road in Ohafia Local Government Area.

Sponsor of the project, Uko Nkole stated this when he paid a courtesy call to the traditional ruler of Amudu Autonomous Community, Etitiama Nkporo, Eze U.I Eme in his palace in the area.

Explaining that N100m had been released for the project which is being handled by Messers Syndicate Gruop, he added that subsequent releases would be made as it progresses.

Nkole, who represents Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representative said when completed, the road would assist in boasting economic activities in the area.

According to the lawmaker, the road would pass Abiriba -Amurie-Etitiama-Elughu-Nkporo communities-Nguzu Edda Junction through Umuahia-Ohafia road.

Introducing the Project Supervisor, Engr. Yusuf Ogere from the Federal Ministry of Works to the monarch, he appealed to the supervisor to ensure it is completed according to specification.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), lawmaker used the forum to assure the constituents of his commitment to ensuring the even development of the constituency.

Welcoming the lawmaker and his entourage, the monarch commended Nkole for sponsoring the project and assured him of the people’s continued support.

Similarly, the supervisor, assured that the ministry would ensure the speedy completion of the job in view of the strategic importance of the road to the area.
