The Ministry for Sports and Youths Development, Barr. Solomon Dalung has called on federal and states government to promote culture as a way of promoting love and peace among the people before relationships breakdown and security agents are called in to resolve the ensuing crisis.

Dalung disclosed this to journalists at the Rwang Pam stadium venue of the Nzem Berom 2019 International Cultural Day celebration on Friday in Jos. He said cultural celebration is part of African people, particularly during the  planting and harvesting season and end of the year.

According to him , “this is the period when African tradition seek the face of God to advance the core value of the lives significant to peaceful co-existence, festivals offers the African opportunity to celebrate with the community before proceeding to farming season as the rain set in.”

“The Berom are found to be existing in Bauchi and Kaduna, beside Plateau, with rich cultural heritage and good weather that can grow all types of vegetables, fruits that can be seen across Europe.  If cultivation is sustained today they would boost the economic well-being of the people.

The Minister urged Plateau state government to go back to history of Plateau crisis because the state had successfully fought several battles before the recent incessant attacks in the state, adding, “we most empower our traditional institution to provide protection to the people of Plateau and it’s environs.”

He also commended the Governor Simon Lalong in using a modesty method to bring back peace to the state and urged the people to shun all their differences and respect one another to live in peace.
