#End SARS: Lawyer Resigns From EFCC to Join Protest

Mr Akpan Udo
A lawyer, Mr Akpan Udo has quit his job at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to join the protest. According to him, he, “I became a lawyer to defend the people. not to join thje government to victimise them.
Below is his complete statement:
“At 70 and 80yrs they are afraid to die but they send the armed forces to kill Nigerian youths🏴‍☠️.
This is to inform you that I have disengaged my services to EFCC to join the legal team of the ongoing #EndSars Movement. This decision is not unconnected to the ugly experiences i have had within the Commission and the outright domination of one ethnic group in the affairs of Nigeria. Many reforms need to be carried out to push Nigeria out of the dungeons of mediocre leaders, nepotism and religious jingoists. I became a lawyer to defend the people, not to join the government to victimise them. Keeping quiet in the face of oppression does not suit my style. I am back to my turf.”
