Chief Ikechi Emenike
A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abia State, Mr. Obilor Ogbonna has described the purported suspension of Chief Ikechi Emenike from the party by the outgoing caretaker committee as a huge joke.
According to him, “The July 30 purported reaffirmation of the suspension can best be situated as the vituperations of visibly drowning men as the pendulum has just swung against them. Their self-inflicted woes have just began”
Ogbonna stated this when he spoke to newsmen in Umuahia, the capital while reacting to the report, saying the pronouncement was a desperate move by equally desperate politicians, who have lost their ego and relevance.
“The purported suspension by an outgoing caretaker committee 12 hours to ward congress of the party which is slated for tomorrow 31st of July sounds like a distraction to the revered Emenike and should be completely disregarded.”
According to him, it is on record that the national headquarters of the party in Abuja had in early July 2021 invalidated and put paid to the rumored suspension wondering what brought the matter up again if not for the sake of mischief.
Meanwhile, the state ward congress committee chairman, Hon Israel Goli has assured the members of a level playing field and free, fair and transparent conduct of the exercise across the wards.
The member representing Nembe/Brass federal constituency at the House of Representatives, gave the assurance while addressing stakeholders of the party in Umuahia, the capital ahead of the congress.
Similarly, the deputy chief whip of the House, Hon Nkiruka Onyejeocha noted with satisfaction the level of preparedness for the congress in the constituency, and commended the committee for their commitment to succeed.
