From Joseph Amedu, Lokoja

The killing of three persons and destruction of valuable properties at Anyigba and Odolu in the eastern flank of Kogi state by political thugs during the last Presidential and National Assembly elections has continued to raise serious concern among prominent indigenes of the zone as the Atta’Igala, Dr Michael Idakwo Ameh Oboni(11) has called on the ancestors of the land to descend heavily on the perpetrators and sponsors of the dastardly act.
The Atta’ Igala, who is also the President of Kogi State Council of Chiefs stated this while speaking with journalists in his palace at Idah, the ancestral home of Igala Kingdom over the weekend.
He was speaking against the backdrop of the violence that marred the Presidential and National Assembly elections which led to the cancellation of the National Assembly elections in 129 polling stations, leading to the declaration of the elections inconclusive.
The violence also claimed the life of two persons at Anyigba and one at Odolu in Igalamela/Odolu local government area as well as destruction of houses and other valuable properties in parents of the entire Kogi east.
The Royal Father who was visibly angry decreed that anyone that engaged in assassination and their sponsors will be punished by Igala ancestral spirits.
He therefore called on parents to call their children and wards to order to avoid incurring the wrath of the Igala ancestral spirit that would be invoked to deal with any one perpetrating any act of violence in any part of the state and particularly Kogi east axis of the state.
Flanked by over 30 traditional rulers, the Attah described politics as game of numbers where only one person with highest number of votes emerges winner ,maintaining that democracy is not about killing
He also warned bloggers and social media to stop castigating his personality with fake news and inconsequential blogs that had no positive impacts on the lives of the people.
