Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development and the Social Democratic Party candidate for Langtang North and South Federal Constituency, Barr. Solomon Selcap Dalung has declared Thursday, January 26, 2023, a free water day in his constituency.
His Langtang South Coordinator, CC Dashe, said in Mabudi, the LGA Headquarters, that Dalung took the measure as a symbolic gesture to draw attention to the degradation and untold hardship his people are suffering as a result of difficulties in fetching water from the Mabudi Dam, even when they pay for supply.
He said, “You will recall that Dalung brought the water treatment plant to purify the water, but the pipeline was broken by contractors who were working on the Mabudi- Sabongida road and till date they haven’t repair it.” Private water suppliers have now filled the vacuum.
Dalung, according to Dashe, has discussed with owners of the water units to supply his people water free and he will pay them to give water free to the people without collecting money from them.
