
South Africa, Algeria and Nigeria leads the continent with the highest number of cases of coronavirus infections and deaths, according to the WHO regional office in Brazzaville, Congo.
In its release on Wednesday, the regional body gave the breakdown of the numbers, stating that of the total 115,892 cases recorded in the continent,with 3,479 deaths and 46,553 recoveries. Of these numbers, South Africa has 46,000 cases with 3,690 deaths, followed by Algeria with 23,600 with 418 deaths and then Nigeria with 8,510 cases and 165 deaths. Ghana follows with 8,809 cases with 43 deaths.
According to the statement, Lesotho, Seychelles and Libya have the lowest cases with one, 11 and 72 cases respectively. Libya has recorded three deaths
