On pain of detention if he grants press interviews and participates in protests, Nnamdi Kanu, leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, was Tuesday granted bail by an Abuja Federal High Court presided over by Justice Nyako.
Justice Nyako said she was granting him bail on health grounds, following her observation of his state anytime he came to the court.
She however refused to extend a similar treatment to his lieutenants, Chidiebere Onwudiwe, National Coordinator of IPOB, Benjamin Madubugu an IPOB member and David Nwawuisi.
The bail was granted for N100million with three sureties, namely someone in the rank of a Senator, another who must be a religious leader and the third, someone who has a landed property in Abuja.
Justice Nyako fixed July 11 and 12 for the beginning of trial.
