President Muhammadu Buhari has returned from London on board Nigeria Air Force One jet, which touched the ground at 4.30 pm to the waiting hands of a large crowd of supporters.
The President who left Abuja on May 7 and spent more than 100 days receiving treatment in the British capital arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport on Saturday and walked briskly to the podium to receive the national salute.
Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, his Vice, who acted as president during his absence led the delegation that received Buhari at the crowded airport, including the Senate President Bukola Saraki, Ministers, some governors and service chiefs
Meanwhile, Mr Feimi Adesina, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity has denied that Buhari was forced back to the country by the three-day protest by the Resume of Resign Group: Our Mumu Don Do, led by musician, Charley Boy and human right activists, Debo Adeyanju
He said :“The return of the President has nothing to do with the protest. It is about continuing with the work he started. Some of us knew about his return some days back. Remember that the Acting President held on effectively and they will continue the work together.”
