Buhari Promises To Fix Power, Railway As Plateau Beef Up Security Ahead of Visit

President Muhammadu  Buhari has given an assurance that he will “fix electricity supply and railway transportation that were killed during the sixteen years rule of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), if re-elected.

The president gave the assurance while addressing his supporters at the Kogi state Mega rally of the All Progressives Congress APC, held in Lokoja, the state capital on Wednesday.

Buhari  who had arrived the Confluence Stadium, venue of the rally to a rousing welcome at exactly 2:20pm, acknowledged cheering crowd by riding round the Stadium that was filled to capacity.

He also promised to revive the ailing Ajaokuta Steel Complex and the fight against corrupt elements in Nigeria..

“Let me warn you not to allow them back so soon as they have genuine plans to siphon the nation’s scarce resources” the President cautioned.

The Director General, Buhari Campaign Organisation, Rotimi Amechi who also spoke at the rally said that “the only area where the opposition Party peoples Democratic Party, PDP performed better All Progressive Congress, APC is in looting and corruption.

“They said that Nigerians are hungry, who caused the hunger,they caused it because they have looted the money  which APC is trying to recover.”

In the area of infrastructure, Amechi said that the Itakpe- Warrior rail, which will soon commence operation would also provide 1000 Jobs adding that majority would be from Kogi state.

Also speaking, the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello called on the people of the state to vote enmasse for Buhari in view of his numerous achievements in the area of infrastructure, security, diversification, and food security.

He said that the president needed one more term to accomplish the set objective of the party, adding the four years was not enough.

Meanwhile, the Plateau State Deputy Governor,Prof Sonny Tyoden has said ,Plateau state is secure for the visit of Presidential campaign train of Muhammadu Buhari as the state has beefed up security to condone the activities of criminals element .

Tyoden stated this in a press conference held at the Lalong Campaign office at Miango Junction, Makere ,Jos .

He said the state is safe and ready to welcome Mr President on his electioneering cteam ,stressing that “Plateau state  is home to APC so there is no shaking no one can intimidate us .

Speaking on the expectation of the party supporters on Mr President visit. Tyoden revealed that the people of Plateau state are prepare to come out on Saturday to give him the overwhelming support .

He told journalists that the President’s “ visit to Plateau would afford him the opportunity to once again, seek the mandate come 16th February, 2019 when we shall be going to the polls to cast our votes for him as well as all other candidates of the APC vying for National Assembly elections.

The Deputy Governor said ,”we are expecting a large gathering of party faithful from all the 17 Local Government Areas

“Let me restate the commitment of our governor, the Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, who doubles as the gubernatorial candidate of the party as well as the Coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Organization in Plateau State to thank you and to assure you all that we are in high spirits and ready to receive our Presidential flag-bearer on Saturday at the Rwang Pam Stadium, venue of the rally.  We are hopefully expecting Mr President by around 1pm of that day.

May I also intimate you that Mr President will be accompanied by the cream of the party leadership including the Co-Chairman of the Presidential Campaign Council, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Director General of the Buhari Campaign Organization, Chief Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi and a host of other party stalwarts and governors,” he concluded.
