Bandits Invade Kogi Assembly Complex

Armed bandits at the weekend, raided Kogi State House of Assembly Complex carting away property worth millions of naira.

The Speaker of Kogi Assembly, Rt Hon Matthew Kolawole confirmed the incident in a chart with Our Correspondent in Lokoja.

The Speaker told Our reporter that armoured cables, TV sets and other office valuables were among the property stolen.

He expressed concern over the sad development saying that the invasion had exposed the porous security at the complex.

He warned security men attached to the Assembly Complex to seat up in the discharge of their duties or would be made to face interrogation over their lapses in the protection of lives and property at the House of Assembly.

According to him, the security needs to be overhauled.

Rt Hon Matthew Kolawole also appealed to security agencies in the state to ensure that perpetrators and those behind the robbery were arrested to avert future occurrence.

He however, expressed joy that no live was lost during the attack.
