The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed March 2026 for its National Convention as it released a comprehensive timetable for its 2025/2026 ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses nationwide.
The schedule, issued by the party’s National Secretariat at Buhari House, Abuja, outlines the activities for the election of party officials at all levels.
The process is being conducted in accordance with the provisions of Articles 11 and 17 of the APC Constitution.
According to the timetable, the membership e-registration exercise will commence on Monday, December 1, 2025, and run until January 30, 2026.
This will be followed by the issuance of notices of congresses to state chapters and the Federal Capital Territory on February 2, 2026.
The document, signed by the National Secretary, Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, indicates that the purchase and submission of nomination forms for ward and local government area (LGA) congresses are slated for February 4 to February 9, 2026.
The screening of aspirants for these positions will take place between February 11 and 13, 2026.
Ward congresses are scheduled for Wednesday, February 18, 2026, with appeals arising from the exercise to be concluded the following day.
LGA congresses, which include the election of delegates to the National Convention, will hold on Friday, February 20, 2026, while appeals will be addressed on February 21, 2026.
For the state level, the sale of nomination forms for executive positions is fixed for February 23 to 27, 2026. Screening of aspirants will take place from March 2 to March 4, 2026, followed by state congresses on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
Appeals arising from the state-level elections will be concluded between March 9 and 11, 2026.
The APC also announced that zonal congresses across the six geopolitical zones will hold on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Designated centres include Ibadan for the South West, Enugu for the South East, Rivers or Cross River for the South South, Kaduna for the North West, Gombe or Bauchi for the North East, and Nasarawa for the North Central.
The National Convention, which serves as the climax of the political exercise, is scheduled to hold from Wednesday, March 25, to Saturday, March 28, 2026.
Basiru urged party members and stakeholders to strictly adhere to the schedule to ensure a transparent, credible, and orderly process as the party prepares for its next leadership cycle.
