An Appeal Court sitting in Plateau state is set for the judgment over the State High Court ruling presided over by Justice, Ashom Arum , which have recognized Hon. Rufus Bature as the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the 2021 state congress.

The party’s embattled Chairman Hon. Ishaya Itse, the self-acclaimed chairman appealed the lower court judgment of Justice Arum , which sacked him, following a suit by Ishaya Itse and five others over their alleged exclusion from the party’s primaries congress.

Ishaya Itse held that Rufus Bature lacked locus standi to approach the court to replace him.

Ishaya calling on the appeal court to set aside the judgment of the lower court against him.

He said the trial judge acted strangely when he delivered judgment on the preliminary objection of the defense and the substantive matter, just to grant all the prayers of the defendants.

Ishaya said the judge was in serious error for not going into the merit of the matter, questioning how the court got reasons to deliver its judgment without properly examining the matter.

He said the appeals by embattled APC chairman were in merit and are to be allowed.

Meanwhile, the Chairman itself has lauded the judiciary for upholding justice, saying the judgment would give Plateau people opportunity to choose among candidates at the polls and urged politicians to approach democracy with utmost responsibility.
