Alfa Declares Intention To Run For Kogi State PDP Chairmanship, Vows to Reposition the Party

Ahead of July 2019 People’s Democratic Party (PDP) State Congress in Kogi,  Mr. Fidelis Alfa from Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area on Tuesday declared his intention to run for the State Chairmanship of the party with a vow to reposition the party for future electoral value if elected.

Fidelis Alfa while speaking to journalists shortly after an interactive session with nine local government PDP Chairmen from the eastern senatorial district of Kogi state at the party secretariat in Lokoja where he made his declaration, affirmed that he is capable of providing the party with enabling resources to thrive.

The PDP Chairmanship aspirant who described resources as key to the live of any association, also promised to embark on empowerment of party members through establishment of multipurpose Cooperative Society where members would be actively engaged to make ends meet.

He noted that the problem with PDP in the state is the leadership question as the party “presently lacks discipline,  transparency and what it takes to reconcile aggrieved members

” As it is now it looks as if there is no PDP in the state. If elected I will ensure that the party is back to live as the people’s hope generally lies on party. I will also run a party that can be self reliant, focused and proactive in its activities ” Alfa Boasted.

The Chairmanship aspirant further gave an assurance that he will not relent to fight and stand for PDP on issues that can lead the party to victory come November 2019 governorship election in Kogi state.

Alfa said he stands to be a man of proven integrity and wide experience in party administration, having worked as a staff of the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja and former local government party chairman.
