The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia state, under the leadership of Hon. Nkem Okoro has said that at 28 years, the state is still crawling.
The APGA stated this in statement by its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ebere Uzoukwa on the occasion of the 28th anniversarry of the creation of the state.
It said, “We, therefore, wish to reiterate that Abia, as envisioned and created, has not sojourned towards meeting the aspiration and dream of the founding fathers.”
“This is the bane of our problems, as a people and state, is expressly and unarguably traced to poor and mundane leadership.”
The statement said it is incontrovertible that after 28 years, the state has remained sickly and stagnant without conspicuously registering economic gains, strides of development, and social advancement.
It maintained that “The most recent and successive administrations have colossally failed in all endeavours to drive the vision upon which Abia was created.”
According to the statement, the APGA said the occasion therefore, calls for sober reflection given the fact that nothing at all suggests celebration of any kind.
“This is one of the reasons the people should support and pray fervently for its governorship candidate in the 2019 general election, Dr. Alex Otti to regain his mandate before the tribunal.”
“It also our wish to salute Abia founding fathers both dead and living for the exemplary vision which 28 years ago led to the creation of the God’s Own State,” it related.
