Abia State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Donatus Nwankpa has told Ndigbo that they cannot obtain any favours from President Muhammadu Buhari while being antagonistic to his administration.
Nwankpa stated this when he received in audience former Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Mr. Azubuko Udah on a courtesy visit to his office in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.
He expressed worry that ” unfortunately some of them are yet to accord the administration its due respects both in their actions and utterances about three years into its life.”
According to the former state lawmaker, who later servred as a commissioner in the immediate past administration in the state, the president “is not an Igbo-hater as held in some quarters.”
Speaking about the forthcoming mega rally of the party in the state capital, he said, ” we are going to use it to make a loud statement that the party has come to stay in the state.”
He appealed to both members and supporters of the party to ensure they were registered and obtained their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) to vote in the 2019 general election.
He said, ” For us to achieve our aim of forming the next administration in the state, we must make sure we voted in the election and as I speak, there are over 63,000 uncollected PVC’s in the state.”
Speaking earlier, Udah said he came to fraternize with the members, assuring them of his preparedness to work with them to ensure victory for the party at all levels in the election.
He stressed the need for the people of the state to vote massively for the party in the election to edge out the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led administration in the state.
The former police boss argued, ” Being in opposition is the worst thing that can happen to a people in this country. We must struggle to wriggle ourselves out from the dilemma.”
Udah was accompanied by another chieftain of the party, Chief Daniel Okereke and scores of others from Ozuitem in Bende Local Government Area of the state among others.
