The Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Plateau State, Mrs Afniki Dangin has commended Governor Simon Bako Lalong for given women the space to active participation in political activities and good governance .
Mrs Dangin made this commendation during the flag off of sale of nomination forms to aspirants ahead of forthcoming Local Government election scheduled for February28, 2018 .
She disclosed that the party has restored women’s rights and brought the present peace “we are currently enjoying under the leadership of the change mantra.”
“This a welcome development for the women wings of the APC government but we are still glamouring for more involvement of our members. This is a new page by the current APC government, difference from the past PDP government which was not gender friendly.”
She assured that the party would clinch the 17 local government seats in Plateau “if the opposition PDP would allow the election would be free and fair.”
She appealed to women to come out and seek for elective offices in the present political dispensation and liberate themselves from the shackles of poverty foisted on them by the domination of politics by their male counterparts.
Meanwhile, the Councilorship aspirant for Abba Shehu ward of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state, Hon Ahmad Yahaya has said if elected he will contribute positively to the development of the change mantra.
He pledged to canvass health care delivery, sanitation and quality education in Abba Shehu ward which is consider as flash point of crisis .
