The organising committee of the Summit of the Progressives has rescheduled the programme commemorating 10 years of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in national governance to January 27, 2026.
Chairman of the Brand and Media Committee, Bashir Ahmad, said the summit, earlier fixed for December, was shifted in consideration of prevailing circumstances, noting that the new date would allow for a more fitting and inclusive gathering of leaders, stakeholders and members of the broader progressive family.
The landmark national event is being organised by the Progressives Forum (TPF) in collaboration with The Bola Tinubu Legacy Conference, The Progressives Rights Group (PRG) and The Buhari New Media Centre (BNMC).
President Bola Tinubu, one of the original co-founders and leaders of the APC, is expected to serve as the Special Guest of Honour, underscoring the significance of the occasion in Nigeria’s democratic evolution.
According to Ahmad, the summit is designed as a reflective and forward-looking platform to undertake a comprehensive review of milestones, achievements, reforms and developmental strides recorded since the APC assumed national leadership in 2015. He added that the event would also provide a forum to articulate a renewed progressive vision for the years ahead.
He said the programme would feature keynote addresses on the evolution and impact of progressive governance across major sectors, alongside sectoral panel discussions on economic transformation, national security, social investment, energy transition, infrastructural development, governance reforms and political renewal.
Ahmad added that fireside chats with notable leaders within Nigeria’s progressive fold would form part of the programme, spotlighting leadership journeys, defining decisions, policy philosophies and pivotal reflections that have shaped the movement.
Other highlights of the summit, he said, include legacy documentary presentations capturing the APC’s rise, its signature policy interventions and landmark governance moments since 2015, as well as strategic future-casting sessions projecting an innovative roadmap for the next decade of progressive leadership anchored on inclusion, national renewal and sustainable development.
He further disclosed that the summit would feature a tribute segment honouring the memory and contributions of the late President Muhammadu Buhari and other departed leaders who played foundational roles in the progressive movement.
Ahmad said further details on participation, accreditation and media arrangements would be communicated in due course.
