
The Onogie of Udo-Eguare Community in Igueben Local Government Area of Edo state, His Royal Highness, Friday Ehizojie, has regained freedom from his abductors.
The monarch was kidnapped alongside two others on Sunday evening, February 2, at Rest House junction between Ubiaja and Udo
The spokesperson of the State Police Command, CSP Moses Yamu, said the monarch was rescued by police operatives after sustained search and rescue operations.
He said, “The Commissioner of Police Edo State Command, CP Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin, has kept her vow with the rescue of the Onogie of Udo-Eguare community who was earlier kidnapped on the 02/02/2025.
“The Command appreciates the Government of Edo State and attributed this success to the logistic support rendered towards this operations by the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo
“The Command equally appreciates the vigilantes, hunters and other well-meaning residents of the state for their support so far.
“The general public is assured that the Command’s commitment to the fight against crime remains unshaken.”
